Maine Auctioneers Assn. elects new officers at annual meeting

ROCKLAND, Maine – The Maine Auctioneers Association held its annual meeting on January 9 and 10 at the Samoset Resort in Rockland. The meeting was held in conjunction with the National Auctioneers Association USPAP appraisal certification course.

John Boyd of Boyd Auctions in Eliot, Maine was voted in as president, and Rusty Farrin of Farrin Auctions in Augusta, Maine was elected vice president.  

Thomas Saturley of Tranzon Auction Properties in Portland, Maine and Jay Hanson of Winslow, Maine were inducted into the Maine Auctioneers Hall of Fame for their many years of dedicated service to the organization.

The weekend’s events were well attended, with participants coming from as far away as Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida and Louisiana. During the annual dinner, the MAA donated $1,000 to the Maine Make a Wish foundation.
