IOLA, Wis. – Are you or someone you know a deltiologist? If so, Antique Trader applauds you, especially with National Postcard Week 2017 rapidly approaching. Deltiologists (people who collect and study postcards) have been celebrating this collecting interest as far back as the early 20th century, according to the National Postcard Week site.

There have been various incarnations of special events focused on promoting postcards. The current National Postcard Week dates to 1984. This year the celebration will take place May 7-13.

Antique Trader is participating in National Postcard Week this year. The limited-edition postcard (above) is the result of a collaborative effort between Antique Trader’s in-house postcard enthusiast and print editor Karen Knapstein and designer Sandi Carpenter.

In honor of National Postcard Week, Antique Trader is seeking opportunities to trade its limited edition postcard. Simply send a postcard, be it one you’ve collected, purchased recently, or designed specifically for National Postcard Week 2017, to Antique Trader and you’ll receive one in return.

Below are a few recommended guidelines for participating in National Postcard Week.

  • Be sure to reference National Postcard Week and the date on the postcard.
  • If you are a member of a postcard club, include the name of the club as well as your name and mailing address.
  • Autograph your postcard. Using your first name only is acceptable.
