Sotheby’s Hong Kong to offer renowned Yamanaka Articulated Vase

HONG KONG – Opening this season’s Sotheby’s Hong Kong Chinese Works of Art Autumn Sale Series 2018 on October 3 is the Yamanaka Reticulated Vase which has remained dormant in a private Japanese collection for almost a century since its acquisition in 1924. It was acquired following its exhibition with Yamanaka in New York in 1905.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – The auctioneer selling the house where Rosa Parks sought refuge after fleeing the South amid death threats said after the auction on Thursday there are buyers interested, but it will take a few days to work out the details.

CINCINNATI (AP) – Admirers of Neil Armstrong and space exploration have a chance to own artifacts and mementos that belonged to the modest man who became a global hero by becoming the first human to walk on the moon.

The personal collection of Armstrong, who died in his native Ohio in 2012, will be offered for sale in a series of auctions handled by Dallas-based Heritage Auctions, beginning Nov. 1-2 and continuing in May and November 2019.

DALLAS – A flintlock musket that once belonged to Sitting Bull and Sioux arrows from the Battle of Little Bighorn led Heritage Auctions’ George Armstrong Custer and the Plains Indian Wars Featuring the Glenwood J.
