NEW YORK – Commissioned by the New York City Ballet, Faile is the first artist to kick off the inaugural Year of Art Series.

Inspired by ballet, Faile’s installation was created for the performances on Feb. 1 and May 29. On those evenings, every ticket-holder will receive a limited-edition takeaway. “Les Ballets De Faile,” a tower covered with images from the NYCB archive, painted and silkscreened to wood panels, takes inspiration from the energy and artistry of dance and greets guests as they enter Lincoln Center.

Even if you don’t make it to the ballet, you can still check out the street art duo Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller’s work throughout the city. Four posters feature their unique pulp-fiction-like colleges and advertise the performances, bringing a little lowbrow aesthetic to highbrow athletics. It’s exciting to see how well the two art forms can complement each other.
