LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. – From Friday, Feb. 23 through Sunday, Feb. 25, Rago Arts and Auction Center will hold an unreserved auction of early 20th-century art and design, modern and contemporary art and design, tribal and American Indian art, Scandinavian furniture, animation cels and much more. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
Included in this 1,900-lot sale are period and modern works of Arts and Craft design; American and European mid-century furnishings; a broad selection of estate goods; prints, duplicates and works on paper spanning over 100 years; antique and contemporary art glass; and a run of animation cels from Hanna-Barbera, The Beatles Yellow Submarine and the Walt Disney Co. among others.
“Rago’s Unreserved Auctions are built around a diverse and engaging mix of property at attractive price points,” said Michael Ingham, director of Rago’s Unreserved Department, “We’re excited to build on this foundation in our February sale with the introduction of new categories of collectibles and art, including vintage concert posters and animation slides from some of the most cherished cartoons of the past half-century.”
The auction devoted to early 20th-century design, ceramics, fine art and estate goods will begin Friday, Feb. 23, at 9 a.m.
Highlights include American and European art pottery and ceramics by TECO, Roseville, Weller, Royal Doulton, Grueby, and artist-decorated pieces for Rookwood.
Scandinavian and European design, postwar art, rock ‘n’ roll ephemera, animation art will sell Saturday, Feb. 24 at 9 a.m.
American contemporary/modern design and postwar art is set for Sunday, Feb. 25 at 9 a.m.
