BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – I.M. Chait Gallery/Auctioneers will hold a major auction of Asian arts and estate items on Dec. 10-11. This special two-day sale will feature an extensive array of Chinese jade and hardstone pieces, including small carvings, vessels, jewelry and figural groups. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
Various contemporary paintings, prints and mixed media works will also be sold. A large Chinese ink, color and wash on paper painting is attributed to Wu Guanzhong (below).
Another large item is a 25-inch-high Japanese satsuma vase that dates to the 1850s (below).
A diverse selection of items from the collection of Eugene Iglesias is presented, including porcelain, carvings, lacquerware and cloisonné.
Fine women’s jewelry including rings, bracelets and earrings with diamonds, sapphires and emeralds have been gleaned from many estates.
