Gold bracelets, diamond rings lead off Gray’s jewelry auction May 10

CLEVELAND – On May 10, Gray’s Auctioneers will showcase many brilliant diamond and precious gemstone pieces in their spring fine jewelry auction, just in time for Mother’s Day. Absentee and Internet bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

The auction opens with a striking 18K yellow gold cuff bracelet (above). A detailed ram’s head design encompasses the 2.25-inch-wide front panel. In lot 2, panthers are on the prowl on another cuff bracelet (below). Yellow gold panthers are set against a white gold background, with “18K” and “PGW” markings.

Lot 4 continues the panther motif with a beautifully designed diamond, emerald and onyx bracelet. One of the two entwined panther heads has a diamond set collar and sparkling diamond eyes. The other head is a diamond melee with its spots set with onyx, along two full-cut emeralds for eyes. The bracelet  of 18K yellow and white gold is estimated at $2,000-$3,000.

Shining bright in lot 22 is a brilliant 8.60-carat round cut diamond and platinum ring (below). This GIA certified and inscribed diamond has a clarity of SI-1 and an L color level. The cut grade is good, with no fluorescence and the ring band has a detachable clasp.

Equally as eloquent, lot 21 is a platinum and cushion cut diamond ring weighing 2.76 carats. This GIA certified and inscribed diamond is flanked by two tapering baguette cut diamonds. The main diamond is of E color and VS2 clarity with good symmetry and no fluorescence.

Lot 23 features a signed, David Webb 18K gold and platinum diamond melee ring. The 16 round diamonds have an approximate total weight of 2.02 carats. A creative animal form in the shape of a frog is showcased in lot 25. This 18K yellow and white gold enameled form is also signed David Webb.

Rounding out Gray’s auction is lot 20, a multicolored diamond and 14K white gold ring. There are 29 irradiated diamonds of varying colors. With good clarity overall, the diamonds colors are green, yellow, brown, white and blue the approximate total weight is 10-11 carats and a detachable clasp.
