NEW YORK – Capo Auction Fine Art and Antiques in Long Island City will present their mid-summer auction on Saturday, July 30, with the spotlight on select fine jewelry pieces and some exceptional fine art. Capo will also offer unique furniture and various silver and decorative items this month. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.com.
In jewelry this month, Capo will feature a three-piece Asprey blue topaz and diamond Daisy Flower suite, being sold individually. The three-piece set includes the Asprey blue topaz and diamond Daisy Flower necklace (above) of 18K white gold, 11 daisy flowers, each set with eight blue topaz petals centering a round diamond separated with a bar link with diamond (est. $5,000-$7,000); the Asprey blue topaz and diamond Daisy Flower bracelet of five daisy flowers, each set with eight blue topaz petals centering a round diamond separated with a bar link with diamond (est. $5,000-$7,000) and the Asprey blue topaz and diamond Daisy Flower earrings of 18K white gold, each earring set with 14 blue topaz petals centering a diamond cluster (est. $800-$1,200).
Also highlighting the jewelry section is an Oscar Heyman sapphire and diamond ring (below), platinum and 18K white gold ring with a center emerald cut sapphire, weighing 2.93 carats, flanked by two emerald cut diamonds, total 1.17 carats, which is estimated at $8,000-$12,000.
In the fine art arena Capo will offer an Alfred Kemplen (British, active 1897-1907) oil on canvas views of London on the Thames, 1913. Diptych. Each canvas of the diptych measures 38 by 49 inches. The work is estimated at $4,000-$6,000. A Clintel Steed (American, b. 1977) Untitled (Green Abstract) oil on canvas in four parts, 2009-2010, overall canvas size 82 x 63 inches, has an estimated value of $1,500- $2,500). A John Thomas Peele (British, 1822-1897) oil on canvas titled Peasant Girl Holding Flowers, 1872, 39.5 x 27.5 inches, is estimated at $8,000-$10,000.
Silver and decorative items being offered at Capo Auction include an ebony wood walking stick having a sterling silver duck head top (est. $1,000-$1,500) and an English silver coffee and tea service, Sheffield, 1948 (est. $800-$1,200).
Modern and other furniture being offered include a Jean Charles travertine top pedestal dining table, circa 1970s, designed by Willy Rizzo, which is estimated at $700-$900; a Louis XV-style bronze mounted bureau plat ($2,000-$2,500); and a Regency mahogany sideboard (est. $2,000-$3,000).
