MONROVIA, Calif. – Featuring nearly 300 lots of fine jewelry both antique and modern, John Moran Auctioneers’ Dec. 8 Fine Jewelry Auction Catalog offers stunning selections at all price points. Holiday-ready highlights abound, including excellent examples of Art Deco design, striking diamonds and iconic pieces by designers such as Van Cleef and Arpels, Henry Dunay and Patek Philippe.

One of the expected top lots for the evening is a rare 2.78-carat round brilliant-cut natural colored diamond (above), GIA graded as fancy light gray-blue and VVS2 clarity. The unmounted stone is expected to bring between $50,000 and $70,000 at Moran’s December auction.

While diamonds abound in Moran’s December catalog, a number of standout pieces are highly anticipated. One such lot is a striking diamond and platinum navette ring featuring a geometric arrangement of old European and old-mine cut diamonds; the ring is offered with a conservative $4000 to $6000 pre-sale estimate. Offered for $3000 to $5000, an elegant diamond, platinum and GIA-certified natural saltwater button pearl ring is sure to exceed expectations. Expected to create a buzz among collectors, a pretty pair of foliate-motif Russian guilloche enamel, diamond and ruby ear pendants are offered for a respectable $1,200 to $1,800 (below).
