CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Chandler’s International Auction & Estate Sales’ Mid-Winter Auction on Saturday, Feb. 2, will feature a Max Kuehne American gilt japanned piano and 16th century painting from a fine Palm Beach estate. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide Internet live bidding.
This auction is packed with life-long collections of fine and decorative valuables. With over 800 lots collected from various estates on the Eastern Seaboard, Chandler’s Auctions and Estate Sales has something awaiting even the finest collector during the auction.
Items Roy Talmo collected internationally for years to enjoy in his private estate in Palm Beach, Fla., including the much anticipated Agnolo Bronzino (Italy, 1503-1572) 16th century oil on canvas, which will be featured in this sale. Talmo traveled the world and collected many fine pieces to enjoy in his home for years before selling the property for land development. Another item of interest from the Talmo estate is an early tapestry featuring a lion, boar and satyr with “and he brought to life the terrible boar” in Latin across the top. Other items from Talmo’s estate were offered in the fall sale just days after Sandy devastated the East Coast.
The Max Kuehne japanned piano, (American, 1880-1968), is quite a find for Chandler’s Auctions and Estate Sales. The sale also includes Japanese and Chinese artifacts from a private estate in North Carolina, a cane with ties to the Ku Klux Klan, historical documents, porcelains and collectable figurines, watches, jewelry, silver and more.
